According to companyincorporationdubai.com ,VAT registration in Dubai applies to both natural persons and legal persons with businesses in UAE , even if there is no trade license obtained. A tax representative with residence in the UAE is needed to be able to register for VAT payment in Dubai.

The answer to this question is no. VAT registration of a person depends upon the taxable supplies or taxable expenses for a certain period. Based on the taxable supplies or taxable expenses, persons are liable to or can opt for VAT registration. Once they will be registered for VAT, they are liable to charge VAT on all their taxable supplies. Only taxable persons (person registered or obligated to register for VAT) can claim input tax based on the normal input tax recovery rules.

UAE-resident businesses who make taxable supplies in the UAE must mandatorily register for VAT, provided the value of their taxable supplies and imports in the last 12 months exceeded, or is expected to exceed in the next 30 days, the mandatory registration threshold of AED375,000. Non-UAE-resident businesses who make taxable supplies in the UAE must also mandatorily register for VAT, regardless of the value of its taxable supplies and imports, where there is no other person obligated to pay the due tax on these supplies in the UAE.

You are required to register if you are making or expect to make supplies of goods or services in the UAE and there is no other person who is required to account for the VAT due in the UAE on your behalf.

I can provide general information on the topic. However, please note that tax regulations can vary by country, so it's important to consult with a tax professional or relevant authorities in your specific jurisdiction for accurate and up-to-date advice.

In many countries, registration for Value Added Tax (VAT) is mandatory for businesses that meet certain criteria. VAT is a consumption tax that is typically added to the price of goods and services at each stage of production and distribution. The responsibility to register for VAT usually falls on businesses rather than individual consumers.

Whether an individual needs to register for VAT depends on their specific circumstances and activities. Generally, if an individual operates as a sole trader or freelancer and their revenue or turnover exceeds the threshold set by the tax authority, they may be required to register for VAT. The threshold can vary from country to country.

It's important to understand the VAT laws and regulations in your jurisdiction to determine if registration is necessary. Consulting with a tax professional or reaching out to the tax authority in your country will provide you with accurate guidance regarding VAT registration requirements for individuals.
