You won't often have to pay VAT on your rent because residential rent payments are typically excluded from VAT.

Currently, there is no VAT to pay for residential properties in the UAE. The landlords of residential properties are generally exempted from VAT payments during the lease or sale of the property. However, if you are renting a commercial property, VAT is applied to leases concerning commercial real estate at the standard rate of 5%, irrespective of where the parties are resident.

Residential rent payments are generally exempt from Value Added Tax (VAT), so you won't typically have to pay VAT on your rent.
